Produced in County Durham, Durham Mustard celebrates the region’s forgotten food heritage
About Durham Mustard
Durham Mustard is England’s original smooth dry mustard, first created in Durham in 1720 by Mrs Clements, who ground locally grown mustard seeds like flour to produce a fine, powerful powder.
The mustard became so popular that King George I patented it, and it was sold nationwide before production eventually ceased in the 1800s.
Produced in County Durham, Durham Mustard celebrates the region’s forgotten food heritage while offering a bold, authentic mustard for shops, restaurants and food lovers across the North East.
